Rod Juntunen
Rod spent his childhood in Skagit Valley.
He graduated from the University of Washington's landscape architecture program
and started his own company, PLANTING DESIGN, in 1975.
To enhance his landcape design and construction company,
Rod returned to Mount Vernon to grow landscape trees.
Currently over 12,000 trees are in production.

Rod is on the board of Skagit Artists Together,
a life-time member of the Children's Hospital Guild Association
and a member of the Burkland-Johnson Guild.

Mari Juntunen
Mari grew up in Renton and spent summers working on
the family's Bainbridge Island farm.
As a 4th-generation Washingtonian,
she is continuing the family tradition of farming.
Her touches can be seen throughout the farm and gardens.

Mari is a life-time member of the Children's Hospital Guild Association,
a board trustee, and a member of
the Ann Carlson Guild and Burkland-Johnson Guild.

Mari also is a board of trustee for the Museum of Northwest Art.

Work on the grounds began in 1995.
Only 7 trees were kept from the farmhouse's original landcape.
Today, nine acres of the 51-acre farm are dedicated to gardens
and feature a variety of styles and plant material....
simple, cottage gardens to more formal, European-inspired designs.
The gardens are private, but are open for charitable events throughout the year.
